Sunday night saw many families in Ottawa throw some blankets in the back of the pick-up and make their way to their first ever drive-in concert at Wesley Clover Parks in the west end of Ottawa.

Oshawa-based Crownlands and Hamilton’s own The Trews (originally from Nova Scotia as the flags on cars would remind us) put on an incredible performance much to the delight of the live music-starved and socially-distanced crowd. Everyone was all smiles at the prospect of getting out of the house and letting loose with some live tunes before the show got started. The crowd really made the best of the new atmosphere and adapted by honking their approval after every song, prompting the Trews to ask if anyone had a horn in the key of B that they could use to accompany them.

The grounds were pristine (well, except for a little mud for the photographers to play in) and the attendants were very helpful and accommodating which made for a great atmosphere. The show started exactly on time and the sets were tight and packed with talent. If you are missing the festival season and want to get your fix, consider checking out the upcoming concerts at this venue.  Big Wreck will be playing the Budweiser Concert Series Drive-in Experience Ottawa on Friday September 18th, followed by The Sheepdogs on Saturday the 19th. Tickets are on Sale at www.ticketmaster.ca and more information about the events can be found by checking out www.thedriveinottawa.ca

Here are some photos of the show that we snapped. Hope to see you at the next one!
