Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Rick has made his roots in The Annapolis Valley. Some of Rick’s best memories is sitting back and watching and listening to his mother, aunts, uncles and sisters play and sing. Whether in the living room, or watching them on stage, it inspired a dream, and passion that still lives strong in Rick today.

Influenced by his moms old records of Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, plus more recent influences such as Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, and Jason Aldean.

Rick played in cover bands for over 20 years, playing bars, pubs, festivals, weddings..etc, and has been writing his own songs even longer. It was finally time in late 2018 for Rick to go into the studio and start recording his own songs, the result was his first album entitled Beat up Truck, which was very well received by both indie country radio and the public. Rick has since released a couple singles and is working on his next album.

In the last year and a half, Rick has had 7 songs go number 1 on various internet station. Rick is showing no signs of slowing down with his newest single “Helluva Night” available September 4 everywhere! We’re thrilled to be working with Rick on the release of this new single. When we first heard it early this summer we knew we had to get it out there for everyone to hear it.

If you live, have lived or have ever visited the country in the summer time you know there’s a whole lot of back roadin’, mudding, wheelin’ and partying going on. “Helluva Night” is the anthem for the those country nights where the mud is flying, the beer is cold and the music is hot. We’re also thrilled to premiere the official music video for “Helluva Night” directed by Ryan Roberts and filmed out in the country where the mud was flying the beer was cold and the music was hot!

“Helluva Night was inspired by a few locations in and around my hometown. We have a few places out in the country that we always seem to land at over the summers. There is always someone willing to perform live music, myself included. Not out of the ordinary to see some mudding going on, whether it’s from trucks, jeeps, wheelers, or homemade buggies…it’s all fun.

Good music, great people and a whole lotta fun equals a Helluva Night.”
