TORONTO, ON (July 27, 2022) — Following a review of eligibility-period data, today the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA) has added two additional nominations to the previously released list of nominees for the upcoming 2022 CCMA Awards presented by TD. Both MacKenzie Porter and The Reklaws will receive additional nods with Porter being added to the Spotify Female Artist of the Year category and The Reklaws receiving a nod in the Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice Award. Winners will be announced on September 11 as part of the 2022 CCMA Awards presented by TD broadcast live from Calgary, AB on Global at 8 p.m. ET.

Earning her fifth #1 (“Pickup”) earlier this year, MacKenzie Porter broke records in the US this year, holding the #1 spot on US charts for six weeks alongside Dustin Lynch (“Thinking ‘Bout You), Porter now holds three 2022 CCMA Award presented by TD nominations — Spotify Female Artist of the YearSongwriter(s) of the Year and Video of the Year ​​in addition to a special mention in the Country Music Program or Special of the Year category for the Bell Media year-end special she co-hosted with Dustin Lynch.

Coming off their third #1 earlier this month (“11 Beers” feat. Jake Owen) and breaking the record for the fastest domestically certified platinum single (“What The Truck”) in the history of Canadian country music during the 2022 eligibility period, The Reklaws see nominations in three categories now for the upcoming CCMA Awards in the Group or Duo of the Year and Interactive Artist of the Year as well as the newly added Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice categories.

To ensure a level playing field for all nominees, all votes cast for the Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice Award to date will be reset back to zero with voting reopening at 12 pm ET (July 27).
Spotify EQUAL has partnered with the CCMA for the first time in 2022, presenting the Spotify Female Artist of the Year category. Spotify’s EQUAL program was created to demonstrate commitment to fostering equity for women in audio and celebrating their global contributions. This year will see Tenille ArtsLindsay EllRobyn Ottolini, Meghan Patrick, MacKenzie Porter and Tenille Townes vying for a win in Calgary.
With the winner chosen by country music lovers across Canada, the fan-driven Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice nominees were also expanded today highlighting 11 Nominees including Tenille Arts, Dean Brody, Jade Eagleson, High Valley, James Barker Band, Brett Kissel, Tyler Joe Miller, Robyn Ottolini, The Reklaws, Dallas Smith and Tenille Townes. Voting for Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice Award is now open.
