Well Day 9 started off a little earlier than the previous day. With it being the second last day…I didn’t want to waste it no matter how just about done I am lol! Some of the highlights on my list included Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Jessie Reyez, Rae Sremmurd, Colin James and, of course a sampling of everything in between.

Waking into the main bowl I was able to catch a bit of Elijah Woods and Jamie Fine, and wow!!! That is one heck of a duo and that Jamie can really belt it out. With Mr. Elijah on the beats and Jamie on vocals…I don’t think there’s nothing these two can’t do!!! Was definitely a great way to start my day and they really had the crowd goin!! Lots of good vibes coming from City Stage!!

As I headed over to Bluesville, I stop by Fadi’s Fabulous Foods truck to grab what is hands down THE BEST poutine this city has, then made my way to the Claridge Homes Stage to catch a bit of Joe MacDonald & the Walkin’ Hawks!! Definitely enjoy hearing some Blues at this festival, and man these guys could play!! Amazing and local so give them a Google and check them out!!

Next up at The Blacksheep Stage, Lyle Odjick & The Northern Steam. They were great! A band I’ve not heard of, who I will now be listening to. Unfortunately that stage has absolutely zero shade and I just couldn’t stay or head back until the sun was down. Kudos to the ones who stuck it out to be at the front!!

Heading back to Bluesville, to check out LeMeow. Hokey dina her vocals!!! Like I said yesterday…one word Meooowwww!!! The band was amazing and the sound coming from that bass, well my goodness!!! If you have never heard them or have never seen them…get online, listen to their work and check out where their next show is and go and support this amazing artist. You will not be disappointed!!

If you have a thing for DJ’s then hopefully you got a chance to check out Yaeji on City Stage. Man she can spin those beats and can sing as well. Well worth the listen and it’s nice to see a female behind that table for a change!!

Jessie Reyez, what a little cutie!! Was looking forward to her performance. Quite the little mouth on her but hey…so do a lot of them. With her lil Spanish accent she ripped us off with the tunes we wanted to hear and got the crowd going!! She is very interactive with her fans and is very passionate about a lot of things other than her music. Cool to know she was born in Toronto, learn something new every day, as I didn’t know that. Would definitely see her again.

Back over at Claridge, Mr. Sipp!!! Fantastic!! There’s not much I can say other then that. He had every eye on him under that tent and was a full house. Find him on YouTube you HAVE to hear this man!!

Now I’m a rap and hip hop fan…so believe me when I tell you these kids were dope!!! Rae Sremmurd folks!!!! One thing to hear them on the radio, but to see them live is another. They had mosh pits in every corner, which made me feel so bad for security on the other side of that fence…but all in all the crowd didn’t seem to be too out of control, as they have been in the past.

My favorite thing about this performance was that they had seen one or two of the not so regular city stage security guys being a little more rough than they should have been with a fan. They stopped the show, jumped off the stage and ran to security and basically told them to like chill out!!! In all the shows and rap shows I have been to, I don’t recall a time where the artist made that much of an effort for his fans!!! Props to you!! All in all great show!!!

Last but not least….the show I was looking forward to seeing the most at Day 9…..
MR. COLIN JAMES!!!! Now my only issue with this show is the location of it. As far as I’m concerned, and I do like Rae but in my opinion, Colin who is a Canadian icon, should have been on the City Stage!! The amount of people at Colin’s show was incredible and I do believe, had there been more space it would have packed the place even more.

Regardless of where he performed…he was so much better than I had already thought he was going to be. He had the Blacksheep Stage rockin the whole show!! He sounds absolutely incredible and basically sounds the same as he did when I first started listening to him as a kid!!!

If you have never taken in a Colin James show as a Canadian you MUST it is your duty lol!!! You won’t be disappointed that is for sure!!!
That sums up the second last day of RBC Bluesfest. What an amazing day with amazing weather!!! Bring on Day 10!!!
Our pics for Day 10, the last day of RBC Bluesfest 2018 (can’t believe it’s almost over for another year already).
