A completely Human Experience for the Venue last night with three bands that presented their work. Hoffey, Her Brothers, and Jordan Waller offered an edgy way of expressing different emotions of the human condition. The turn out was intense and packed. If you couldn’t make it, you missed out on some great shows put on by the artists there.

Hoffey was a three-person band, with digital effects in the drum kit and voice area, with a salty, passionate yearning for love. It would definitely be the type of music to listen to while in those moments of passion, hanging out at a good party when you want that slow-moving dance with the one you’re interested in or love. It would also be great background music for those days you just want to snuggle up with a hot drink and enjoy the environment they create with their music.

Her Brothers offered the responsibility of society, what we can do to change the world, how we can change ourselves, and to be one with another on this small planet of ours. They bring the sense of self with their music and can connect with their audience and still offer a safe place for everyone to be themselves. With the selection of music they chose for this set, it offered love, dedicating a few songs to some of the guests in the audience. Her Brothers can lead with a range of emotion that can be hard to find with bands and they pull it off with ease. They can have you dancing your heart out one minute and swaying to a reflective romantic ballot and you will crave more.

To end their set, they chose a familiar song of Michael Jackson’s and Gabriel (the lead singer) went through the crowd, while somehow balancing on the VIP seating, where the VIP got an up and close personal performance. They are a band to keep an eye on, and if you haven’t heard of them, check them out. They have multiple music videos and have just released their second CD with one song “Human” streaming at over 100,000 likes (at the time of this review).

Jordan Waller was celebrating his first release and had a great turn out. Jordan offered a very melancholy set, of which his new CD titled Melancholy Dream was appropriate named. Now I hadn’t heard of this singer until last night, and there is a lot of potential with artist. They are a surprising entry into the music industry, and it will be interesting to see how it goes.

At first, I had difficulty connecting with the music, and I think that was due to the environment of too much smoke and lights. It was actually to a point the audience couldn’t’ even seen the artist.  Now that aside, I have listened to the music presented, and this is the type of music you want to listen to when you’re down, need encouragement from a break up, and hopefully the reconnection with another when dealing with Love. It connects with those human emotions that everyone experiences throughout life and it’s sometimes its down, and sometimes its up. It’s not all one emotion on this CD, Jordan also offers hope like his song “Moonlight”. The song offers a beat in which to move and groove and the audience showed that in their dancing moves. This was Jordan’s second performance, and first release, and for a second performance it was pretty high up there in presentation minus the few technical issues with the smoke and lights.

Wanting to know more about his choice of topic for this release, I had a chance to ask Jordan a few questions.

Interviewer: “Well that was a great show, how did you think it went?”

Jordan: “I think it went awesome. I was really surprised by the turn out. Just the amount of people coming out and supporting and people just loving the songs. I was super nervous.”  (laughs)

Interviewer: “You have any plans for the future?”

Jordan: “The goal from here is get on a tour and keep going. Get on the road”

Interviewer: “Any music videos or another CD in the works?”

Jordan: “Yah we have a music video for “Staying Up Late” coming out. Then, we have a single in the summer.”

Interviewer: “What time frame are we looking at for all of these things?”

Jordan: “Well I would like to be on tour by the summer, that’s the goal, (laughs) but we will see how that goes. If we can swing it, then I would be living the dream if I can get it by then. The music video should be sometime in the next month and the single in about three months.

Interviewer: “Do you think there will be another CD?”

Jordan: “For sure, we will probably do a few more singles and then see what is in store for Album number two.”

Interviewer: “Now do you have any particular themes in mind, because this one seemed to be pretty melancholy.”

Jordan: “Yes, very melancholy this one, but the next one, I’m really not sure. We will see what comes out.  I really write from the experiences that I have, and I don’t like to decide on something, like this one has to be happy and try and push that. If I’m not happy, then I’m not happy, then I don’t want to be writing happy music. I don’t really know, but I think the next one will be happier.  We will see, I’ll keep you posted.”

So there you have it, we look forward to seeing how this Artist, Jordan Waller progresses for the future and don’t forget to check out the other artists like Hoffey and Her Brothers for more human connections with music.
