Shawn Desman Ignites Kelowna on the “In My Head” Tour
Shawn Desman transformed the Kelowna Community Theatre into a high-voltage pop experience last night as part of his “In My Head” Tour. The Canadian star—who began his musical journey as a teenager and quickly became a staple of early-2000s pop and R&B—showed that his talent, charm, and showmanship have only sharpened with time.
The sold-out crowd, made up predominantly of women spanning every age group, was already on its feet from the very first song of the opening act and never slowed down. The atmosphere was electric and communal, with fans dancing, singing, and celebrating from start to finish.
Opening act Jamie Fine brought her own dedicated following. When she asked who was already following her on social media, more than half the audience shot their hands up. Her set was powerful and deeply felt—during her emotional performance of “Bulletproof,” one woman in the audience wiped away tears. Jamie also shared that she has sponsored her first child through Children Believe, and encouraged others to join her. Forms were available in the lobby, and the tour has already inspired over 100 child sponsorships so far.
By the time Shawn Desman stepped onto the stage, the energy in the theater was at its peak. His smooth vocals and effortless charisma carried hit after hit, but it was when his dancers joined him for “Get Ready” that the evening truly erupted. The choreography, lighting, and collective joy from both the stage and the crowd turned the venue into a full-blown dance party.
