A brand new beer developed by celebrated musician and Juno Award winning artist, Dean Brody, will be making its way to LCBO stores across the province of Ontario. Hucklejack Canadian Lager is balanced with a hint of huckleberry, inspired by Brody’s sense of home, developed using elements from the 4 different regions of Canada where he has at one time put down roots.

More than a year ago, Brody felt compelled to begin delving deeper into the world of beer, dreaming up an idea to bring his vision to life, drawing inspiration from the unique Canadian terrain. By a twist of fate, he met fellow collaborator and brewmaster Spencer Gallant at a brewery in Atlantic Canada, and was intrigued by his knowledge and passion for beer, rooted in historic Maritime tradition. The two quickly got to work testing recipes variations with a creative and subtle infusion of the huckleberry.

“I wanted to create a beer that represented home to me”, said Brody. “After all my travels and experiences, this simply became Canada as a whole, and not one specific region. I hope people feel like they’re experiencing Canada when they drink it, and it takes them to a place they’ve never been, to the high alpine meadows of wild huckleberry patches frequented by Canadian grizzly bears.”

Country superstar Dean Brody is a 2-time Juno Award, 17-time CCMA Award winning artist, including the 2017 win for Fan’s Choice winner. He remains best known for his unparalleled ability to bring storytelling to the forefront of country music, which has translated into more than 20 Top 10 hits, sold out tours, and headline shows at iconic venues such as the Budweiser Stage. Brody brings an authenticity to everything he does, or creates, which now extends into the world of beer.

Brody’s love of our country experienced through years of touring, an appreciation for carefully brewed beer and it’s constant presence in the country music world, and his own childhood memories of picking huckleberries in the Rocky Mountains in the heart of brown bear territory have ultimately inspired his Canadian craft beer. Ontarians can pick up Hucklejack Lager for $2.85 at their local LCBO.
