It’s 2017, Canada is 150, the JUNO Awards are in Ottawa for only the 3rd time ever, and it’s an amazing year to be a woman in music. Tonight 8 awards were handed out at Canadian Tire Centre out which 4 were given to women and the rest to either the Tragically Hip / Gord Downie, Leonard Cohen or Shawn Mendes.

The National Arts Centre is a really spectacular venue for a concert of any size and magnitude. Even more so when the musical artist on the stage is pouring their heart out and the audience is electric. That was just the case this past Friday night, as a capacity crowd of passionate Canadian music lovers arose from their seats and ignored the sitting room guidelines to celebrate the ever-evolving indie dream-rock sounds of Mother Mother.

Mattawa Voyageur Days celebrates 20 years with “Classic Rewind” for 2017 Festival
In 1998 a new festival made it’s debut at Explorer’s Point in Mattawa where the three rivers meet. The inaugural Mattawa Voyageur Days Festival featured a lineup made up of Wild Ones (Youth), Headpins, Toronto, Trooper and Barney (Children’s). This summer fans can relive the summer of 1998 as organizers roll back the clock 20 years and present a “Classic Rewind”.
Rockfest 12 will likely be it’s biggest event to date!
Canadian Music Week New Additions!
Canadian Music Week has added a number of new artists, from genres ranging from hip-hop to country, to the lineup of Canada’s biggest new music and discovery festival which will take place this spring in Toronto.
