Weezer brought their highly anticipated The Gathering tour to Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on October 6th, 2026. They are on tour to promote their 16th studio lp The Gold Album.
With supporting acts Silversun Pickups and The Shins, it was a dream millennial flashback for most of the crowd with the other half being influenced by generations of a stellar taste in music.
Silversun Pickups, who this millennial loves, kicked off the night with some of their well known hits including “Well Thought Out Twinkles”, “Little Lovers So Polite”, “Panic Switch” and “Lazy Eye”.
The Shins followed and put on a captivating set that included covers of “Every 1’s A Winner” by Hot Chocolate and “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It” by R.E.M. The crowd even broke out in a wave for the Hot Chocolate cover!
It was Weezer’s turn next and they did not disappoint. Appearing out of a backyard fence, the band waved to the roar of the packed house before Rivers Cuomo took to the mic to welcome the Columbus crowd to the gathering, a place where all are welcome.
They played a combination of hits old and new all under utility poles with wires above their heads that had sneakers slinged over them like you’d see in your own neighborhood. The set gave a feel of home and comfort, almost as if Weezer was playing in your literal back yard.
The Gathering tour runs through the end of October with the last stop taking place in Los Angeles.
