The punk rock band SoapGirls brought their high-energy stage show on the Rebel DNA World Tour 2026 to Dantes in Portland, Oregon on 7.24.26.
Sisters Noemie and Camille Debray were born in Paris, France and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Noemie explained that when they were younger they would street perform and sell handmade soap on the streets to raise money for charity. People started calling them the soap girls so they kept the name for their band.
The SoapGirls put on an incredible show and have been recording music and touring the world since 2010! They have a great connection with their audiences and are serious about making sure everyone knows they are fine just the way they are. That people want to tell us how we need to be – you’re too tall, too short, too fat, too skinny. That’s not ok. When you go home and look in the mirror, love that person looking back at you. It’s so important to love yourself and be strong. There were a lot of messages in this vein throughout the show and the crowd was invested, cheering and nodding in affirmation. Fantastic and thought-provoking set!
Portland’s own Renegade Leathers really showed out with set that was a controlled chaos of shredding riffs and powerful vocals that had the crowd moving! They are a bit of a hybrid band of punkabilly, garage rock with horror show lyrics. If you’re into a Rainier beer-fueled in-your-face fucking punk rock and roll experience – this is it! Totally worth it!
Another local Portland band The Plane Crash opened the show. According to the band they “play simple 3 chord Rock N Roll with no gimmicks. Our influences are Johnny Thunders, Chuck Berry, The Stooges, CRIME and Rocket From The Tombs.” They are all about a good time and we’re here for it!
