WayHome Day 3

WayHome Day 3 was hot and sunny. This was the day I knew I was going to have issues covering everything I wanted to see. In the end, I didn’t get to see everyone I really wanted to, but a girl’s only human and food, water and rest are absolute requirements on a weekend like this one.

First stop was the main stage for Sloan. What can I say, they played everything I knew and more. Now I may be starting a fight, but honestly, I was underwhelmed. Six feet back from the edge of the stage, they seemed like they were keeping their distance. Sorry Sloan fans.

The Sheepdogs took the WayHome Stage at 3:00pm and they were everything I’d hoped for. Fun, energetic and they played everything I wanted to hear. The set wasn’t long but it was memorable finishing up with I Don’t Know.

My surprise of the day was St. Vincent. Where have I been? Fantastic set! Loved her, can’t get enough of her! Amazing energy and when she smiles, oh my!

Next I headed to the WayBold Stage to check out Walk The Moon. Super fun, super high energy. I only stayed for two songs because I had to run to catch the start of Vance Joy but I really, really didn’t want to leave. Wish I could have stayed to hear the entire set including Shut Up And Dance With Me.

And last on my list for the night was Vance Joy. Love, love, love Vance Joy. I’m going to apologize up front, I’m sorry. He was a joy to watch. He really was! Smiling and appreciative, it made me love him even more. Wonderful, wonderful set. His amazing voice, his energy, his lyrics, his storytelling. He had it all.
