1. 7Friday night in Barrhaven was a fun time to be sure! Meghan Patrick had everyone, fan and non-fans alike, on their feet singing and swaying right along to the beat.

I was lucky enough when I arrived on Friday night to catch the end of Lemon Cash’s set. This Ottawa based band had a great Indie sound and incredible energy. These boys were filled with talent and I definitely recommend catching them at their next event. Their covers and originals were all well-rehearsed and very well executed and they left the stage Friday night to chants of “One More Song! One More Song!”. Meghan Patrick was on next and she did not disappoint! Her set was a great mix between story telling and fun, upbeat music. She clearly cares about her fans and hopped off stage at one point to interact with those lucky enough to be standing near the front. Patrick even took the time to sign CDs and to take a selfie with two young girls who had made a sign in Hunter Orange, Meghan’s favourite – all while still singing!

Meghan’s charismatic personality shone through her entire performance and she kept up a great report with the audience. This bubbly blonde chatted and showcased her talents throughout the night… playing a myriad of different instruments and even having a kazoo solo!

Patrick’s band was also a highlight of the night. With her lead guitarist stepping in to sing Joe Nichols’ part in “Still Loving You”, and her fiddler getting right into the music, you saw what a talented bunch she surrounded herself with! Everyone had a helping hand in this incredible show.

Not to discount this Canadian Girl, who certainly knows how to perform! Kicking things off with her well-known hit “Grace and Grit”, and closing with the boot stompin’, hip-boppin’ tune “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”, Meghan had everyone entertained from start to finish! I have been singing “I Believe in Beer” for three days straight, and don’t see this ear worm going anywhere, anytime soon!

Meghan Patrick was also quick to plug her label mates and the album they have all been working on: Covered in Gold 5.0. This shows that she is definitely a team player, and arguably a truly genuine person!

If you have never seen Meghan Patrick perform live, do it! It is a performance you will never forget, full of quirky and relatable moments from a very down to earth artist! To learn more about Patrick, click here.
