Today I attended my first hip hop show. Thanks to WayHome and thank you Kendrick Lamar, tonight, you touched me and I wasn’t alone. The 30,000 plus crowd who gathered for the show were feeling it too. We waited patiently for Kendrick to take the stage and take it, he did. The crowd was putty in his hands from the second he stepped on stage, and he knew it.
The 75 minute set contained songs from the latest album, To Pimp a Butterfly and songs as far back as Section 80, which he challenged us to sing along with. What can I tell you, I’m hooked.
We got an encore and fireworks, lots of fireworks. It was spectacular.
