Recently, Old Dominion brought their We Are Old Dominion Tour to Kingston’s Leon’s Centre with their friends Carly Pearce and special guest Meghan Patrick.

Meghan’s career has been steadily gaining momentum recently and this year’s CMAOs rewarded her for Fan’s Choice, Female Artist Of The Year, Songwriter Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Music Video Of The Year with many other nominations including another Juno nod. Her set may have been short but she blew the roof off Leon’s Centre, giving the crowd a taste of what they can expect next month as she sets out on her first ever headline tour. We wish her well.

Carly Pearce was up next and her set was nothing short of great. She has been performing for several years but her break came in 2017 with the release of her #1 hit “Every Little Thing” which led to getting her first major record deal. Carly performed a very solid set, doing a great job of replacing Mitchell Tenpenny who had scheduling conflicts.

The moment everyone was waiting for finally came. The near capacity crowd at Leon’s Centre was ready for Old Dominion, and they delivered. There was a large runway reaching well into the middle of the arena and lead singer Matthew Ramsey made good use of it. He spent a lot of time out there, reaching even more of the excited audience members. Throughout the show,

With the many hits Old Dominion have enjoyed, they have become a favourite among country music. They balanced some of the hits like “Snapback” and “Hotel Key with some from the new album, Old Dominion. Songs like “Never Be Sorry” and “Midnight Mess Around” and “Some People Do” were already well known to the audience as they sang along with most.

I really liked the show, it had a lot of energy. A really big thing that came across in the show is that this band is a true band in every sense, a group of friends who just enjoy playing together. If you look at writing credits for the majority of their music you see that most of it is written as a unit. In my opinion, a tight bond comes across onstage and helps the experience for all.
