The Mansion in Kingston hosted Shae Dupuy, 2017 CCMA and CMAO Nominee on March 1. Shae’s newest single, Liar from her newest EP, Brave is now out and getting some radio airplay. Shae won the SOCAN Sponsored 2017 Canadian Songwriters Competition – Country Category with her song “Wishing On You”. Originally from Cambridge, Ontario, Shae now splits her time between Canada and Nashville, where she hones her craft as a songwriter.

Thursday evening, Shae performed a solid set, showcasing songs from both of her Eps and demonstrated why she has been nominated for several awards and honours in the Canadian country music industry. Her enthusiasm as a performer stood out as she delivered her music to the intimate gathering where it was highly appreciated. She is currently on a tour taking her throughout Canada, finishing on April 20th in Calgary.

The thing that impressed me the most about Shae is her songwriting talent. At only 22 years old, she writes far beyond her years. Her songs are mature and polished, dealing with topics from childhood memories in “Grandpa’s Truck” or “In My Father’s Eyes” to love and relationships in songs like “Tin Man” or “Good For Me”.

I enjoyed my evening listening to Shae and her band and will certainly be watching for more from her in the future. Can’t wait to see how she continues to develop in her writing.

see Shae’s website for tour info, media, or just to say hi.
