In the more than two decades since the band’s launch, Sabaton has headlined major festivals, sold-out arena concerts worldwide and gained a legion of loyal fans by carving out a reputation for being one of the hardest working bands in the business. Since their 2005 debut album, they’ve earned Gold, Platinum, and multi- Platinum certifications in territories around the world with their 10 studio albums. They’ve also had
eight albums score Top 10 international chart status, and six claim the Top 5. The band has earned eight Metal Hammer/Golden Gods Awards nominations, taking home the award for “Breakthrough Artist” in 2011 and “Best Live Band” in three different years, and a Grammy nomination (Swedish equivalent to the U.S. GRAMMY) as Best Heavy Metal band. Sabaton has also accumulated more than three billion streams across all streaming platforms and almost 2 billion views on YouTube.

In 2008, Sabaton hosted the first edition of its annual, three-day music festival, Sabaton Open Air, in Sweden, which is currently on a hiatus following over a decade of successful events. The year after, the highly popular Sabaton Cruise was introduced, which sails out of Stockholm each year for epic sea adventures and live acts.

A pivotal point in the band’s history was the debut of the Sabaton History Channel in 2019, which uses the
power of music and storytelling to dive into the stories behind every song with documentary-style videos.

On March 4, 2022, the band’s 10th studio album The War To End All Wars dropped. The album revisits WW1 and features 11 songs. To conclude the band’s chapter on the First World War, the quintet released an EP trilogy on September 30, 2022, entitled Echoes Of The Great War. Complementing their two studio albums on WW1 (The Great War and The War To End All Wars), the trilogy comprised the Weapons Of The Modern Age, Heroes Of The Great War and Stories From The Western Front EPs, each of which featured a new single.

Eager to share their new music with the world, the band embarked on The Tour To End All Tours in 2022/2023 which spanned the US/Canada and Europe. The Great Swedish Tour also occurred in 2022/2023, which saw the band take on their motherland with 50 shows, many of which were completely sold out.

But keeping their heads down and working hard hasn’t stopped them from garnering recognition. In April
2023, the band was recognized by the Swedish Skeptics Association with the highly regarded “Enlightener of the Year Award 2022”, making Sabaton the first ever rock band to receive such an honour.

On June 12, 2023, Sabaton launched History Rocks, a global museum charity project which revolved around the band’s new animated film, “The War To End All Wars – The Movie”, which was screened in 140 museums around the world. The film was later released on major video streaming services on May 11, 2025.

Rewind back to October 2024, Sabaton celebrated the global premiere of their concert film Sabaton – The
Tour To End All Tours, which was filmed at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam the year prior. Over 1,200
cinemas in 28 countries screened the concert film.

At the end of 2024, Sabaton announced The Legendary Tour 2025 in Europe which kicks off in November. In May 2025, they marked their return to Latin America, while in September/October 2025 Sabaton will perform six dates in Australia and New Zealand; will return to Istanbul; and will perform in Moldova and Kazakhstan.

On July 25, 2025, the band announced that their 11th studio album Legends will be released on October 17 in multiple formats including digital, vinyl, CD and a limited boxset. Four singles from the upcoming album are already available including Templars, Hordes Of Khan, The Duelist and Lightning At The Gates.

Sabaton refuses to be slotted into a genre. Fans need only know them as Sabaton, the heavy metal band that sings of real-life wars and the people who played a part in them; true stories more fantastic than any fiction.
