Vancouver’s Peach Pit stopped in Edmonton for two nights at Midway as they wrap up the North America leg of their current tour in support of their third album, “From 2 to 3” released on March 4th, 2022.

Known for their song “Alrighty Aphrodite”, Peach Pit took the stage with high energy and vehement cheers from the crowd. They might be known for “sad pop”, but last night’s show was anything but sad. Everyone in the room was electrified by each song. It was mentioned between songs they haven’t played in Edmonton in 6 years, and their last show was at an internet café. Each song played had everyone dancing and singing along; a much-needed reprieve from the last two years of the pandemic. Peach Pit is comprised of Neil Smith (rhythm guitar/vocals), Christopher Vanderkooy (lead guitar), Peter Wilton (bass), and Mikey Pascuzzi (drums). They have been described as “sad pop” and “surf rock”.

Opening for Peach Pit was Haley Blais, a Vancouver-based Youtuber, and singer/songwriter. The crowd was eagerly waiting for her to take the stage and was met with incredible cheers and applause. She has been recording music in her bedroom since 2014 and since has gained an online following of almost 90 thousand Spotify listeners and 175 thousand YouTube subscribers.
