Our Lady Peace performed recently, on June 24th, 2022 at Massey Hall, Toronto, for The Wonderful Future Tour. This tour is meant to show off this new technology they call Holograms, while also discussing different aspects of the future and technology.

Throughout the performance, I never once questioned the quality of the band’s instrumental work. I had a bit of a hard time understanding the vocals, but it seemed that I was the only one because everyone else around me, was cheering and singing along. So, I was blown away by the instrumental work being done, specifically the bass. The guitar and drums had their moments of beauty quite often, but throughout the entire show, it was the bass that held my attention.

Holograms were used to bring in other artists to perform, either with them or solo. While I wasn’t sure why they were called holograms, I did know that really I enjoyed the performances given. They also used these holograms during breaks, using an AI to deliver a story to the audience and to talk to us while we wait. I enjoyed these moments for the most part, and they were used in a really nice way to help the boredom of the break pass.

This 16-show tour still has concerts upcoming. The closest one is June 30th, in Bala, Ontario. If you want to know more about the band, or more dates to catch a concert, their website can be found here: https://www.ourladypeace.com/tour
