Mika brought his The Right to Spring tour to a sold out History night club in Toronto on Wednesday evening, the first of 4 Canadian stops.

The show started 15 minutes late and the crowd was getting more and more anxious as the minutes ticked by. Finally when Mika and the band came out there was a wave of excitement and a roar from the crowd that made very clear this was going to be an amazing night.

British singer-songwriter Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr., known by his stage name Mika, performed a sold out show at Rancho Ralaxo in Toronto. In picture: MIKA

Within seconds of the show starting I was blown away by his voice and stage presence. I pity that poor piano. Mika’s music is magical and brings people together. The crowd was very mixed. From teenage girls to gown men to a pair of Italian girls from Florence that just flew to Canada just to see his show.

As the night was coming to an end, he sang classics such as “Grace Kelly”, “Love Today” and “Tiny Love” and “Stay Hi.” ending the show with “We Are Golden”. After listening to his music for a while now I have to admit I was pretty elated to finally be able to see him live. I can’t wait until the next time.

The Canadian leg resumes on April 25 when Mika visits the Bell Centre in Montreal before moving on to stops at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City and the Théâtre du Palais Municipal in Saguenay. For tickets visit: https://www.mikasounds.com/shows/
