Night #1 of Ottawa’s New Country 94’s Parking Lot Party 2018 at Crazy Horse Bar Grill kicked off with headliner Maderline Merlo.

The weather was perfect, the music was flawless and the crowd were enthusiastic willing participants in this parking lot party. What else would you expect from a party sponsored by Ottawa’s New Country 94 and Budweiser Canada? Ottawa’s Valley’s own The Riley New Band warmed up the crowd nicely playing both covers and throwing in a few originals of their own.  A vibrant performance full of confidence, conviction and style. They had the crowd singing and dancing throughout their two hour time frame. Coming from the valley myself, I couldn’t be more proud.

Rising Star. CCMA Award and two-time BCCMA Award winning artist,  Maderline Merlo took the stage as the headliner and gave the audience a very sound, strong performance that with one glance at the crown you could feel they were thoroughly enjoying themselves. Born and raised in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, this country pop artist is a Canadian singer-songwriter to be reckoned with.  With a songs like “Honey Jack.”, which hit No. 25 on the Canadian country charts, and a single called “Neon Love” to her credit you know that she can sing with the best of them. My favorite tonight was her second song Whatcha Wanna Do About It which is a very catchy upbeat song. This is just the beginning for Merlo who’ continues to made serious waves and I’m certain you’ll only hear more from her in the future for a long time.

Merlo has a powerful sweet-sounding voice that ,as she demonstrated tonight, can nail down anything she sings including her Guns N’ Roses cover she performed. The crowd was pushed tight up against the stage and they couldn’t seem to get enough and I’m sure they would have been there had Merlo played until the crack of dawn. Another Canadian musical treasure.

Night number 2 of Ottawa’s New Country 94 Parking Lot Party 2018 at Crazy Horse Bar Grill kicks off tonight with more fabulous music, food and weather so get out and enjoy this event.
