Kendra Kay, Manitoba’s rising country star, came to the legendary The El Mocambo in Toronto, ON, this past Thursday March 10th to show why she has several MCMA Awards to her name as well as being a two-time Manitoba Country Music Award Winner.

Her band came in to stage and started to set the tone and once Kendra came out she left no doubt that we were in for a treat. Her powerful vocals, high energy and warm presence filled the scenario in ways that I don’t think El Mocambo was ready for. She played a amazing selection of music which includes her new single “Wild”, which came out on January 28th and plenty of covers such as my favourite “The Devil went out to Georgia”.

During each song Kendra found the time to share with the audience her upbringing in a small town in western Manitoba, were she spent the majority of her early years life around horses.

Overall it was a very enjoyable evening and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Until next time.

A.
