Mother Nature’s latest ice storm hit Ottawa Monday night but didn’t slow down the I Mother Earth/Finger Eleven show at Algonquin College. The bands kicked off the night with an acoustic set which fans eagerly waited for. After a quick turn around the main event started. JJ Thompson kicked off the night with his acoustic set. Telling stories about joining the tour on the condition of fulfilling a request each night from the other bands, Thompson provided the audience with none other then Whitney Houston.

Finger Eleven took the stage next. Getting their set going with low lights and smoke they quickly turned it up a notch diving into fan favorites. The set was filled with action and hair flips, and stopped at nothing to give the crowd what they wanted.

I Mother Earth jumped into their set with instrumentals. The stage was filled with multiple drum kits, and alternative instruments one might not expect at a rock show. Not to mention, a couple of plastic rats. The high energy set was filled with crowd interaction and lots of lights.

This show did not let mother nature slow it down. I Mother Earth showed Mother Nature who was boss pulling a full crowd to the Algonquin Commons Theatre for a show they won’t soon forget.
