Her Brothers returned to The Roxy in Vancouver for another electrifyingly high energy show.  Before they went on stage, the Vancouver area natives shared some updates fans haven’t heard, exclusively for Sound Check Entertainment.

If you haven’t heard of Her Brothers before, they really are brothers, and their youngest sibling is a sister … hence the name.  Their first album, “She” (which featured their sister on the cover), was entirely self recorded, produced, and released, catching the attention of many people in the local music scene.  The success of their debut album had them touring extensively through BC and Western Canada, including a performance in front of 20,000 people as part of We Day at Vancouver’s Roger’s Arena.

Their fans have been heavily anticipating the next album but the band has kept work on it under the radar, until now.  Towards the end of the set, they played the first single from the album, Human, scheduled for release August 13th. As usual, Gabe (lead singer, guitar) was jumping onto – and off of – the railing, into the crowd, but during Human, went onto the counter at the bar. By the end of the song, some of the fans were already singing along with the chorus.

What the audience didn’t hear, that was disclosed to Sound Check pre-show is … unlike their debut, the upcoming album features collaboration with some well-known names in Canadian music.  Brent Howard and Christian Stonehouse (from Randy Bachman). Another big name collaborator, who’s been with Bryan Adams before anyone knew who Bryan Adams was, is guitarist Keith Scott.  The band’s sophomore album, entitled Tribe, is scheduled for release on October 15th. An album release with input from some staples in Canadian music should only elevate their reach and explode the fanbase. They’ve already got several shows lined up leaning to their album release and indicated they’ve already got a show set in Alberta in May 2019!

The concert itself was high energy, lots of interaction with the crowd, and amongst the band members.

Levi (drums), apparently has a tradition of playing the drums topless, from a young age … so stripping off his shirt after the first few songs wasn’t that much of a surprise … as well as somehow playing the drums both sitting down and standing up while flailing his hair!  But then, what’s the point of a drummer having long hair if it doesn’t flail?!

Josh (bass) also covered the whole stage and backed up vocals somehow keeping a cool exterior while seemingly screaming at the top of his lungs and fist pumping for a few songs.

A videographer was also on hand to record the show … could there be a live music video in the works as well? For more information on Her Brothers, head on over to their website (www.herbrothers.com).
