Round Two of The Dreams Take Flight charity event took place at The Lone Star Loft, 1211 Lemieux Street, Ottawa, Ontario with Matt Dips of Country 101.1 Mc’ing another round of Country Music and fun with Bryan Snider opening followed by Kris Barclay and Brea Lawrenson. The goal of this night was to help make dreams come true for some of the region’s most deserving kids by sending them on a once in a lifetime trip to Walt Disney World with Dreams Take Flight.

WHAT IS “DREAMS TAKE FLIGHT”?

Dreams Take Flight is a national volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing the trip of a lifetime to medically, mentally, physically, socially or emotionally challenged children. With the aid of Air Canada, other national and local organizations and businesses, money is raised to make the dream a reality in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. Every year one flight departs each of the above locations for a day of magic at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. The team was all in attendance having a great time knowing how important this night is for the kids.

THE NIGHT

In her long line of great performances, Brea Lawrenson put on a fabulous night of live music for all in attendance.  Lawrenson has a way of connecting with her audiences and an acoustic show such as this one only made it feel more intimate and exciting.

Kris Barclay, new to the charity fundraising this year, but certainly no stranger to Canadian country music, demonstrated what the future of country music will look like.

Returning for another year, Bryan Snider again got the crowd warmed up with his upbeat style and doing his best to keep dancers on the dance floor.

The night was very interactive with entertainers and attendees mingling throughout the night.  I am again so proud to have been included in this night and of everyone involved.

By the end of this year, Dreams Take Flight will have taken over 20,000 children to the happiest place on earth – Disney. There, they experience the wonder of friendship and magic. The goal is to help them forget their troubles for one incredible day and to provide them with a lifetime of memories. A one-day event where the kids can simply have fun and enjoy themselves. What this organization does is so important to the kids and families and once again people came out to support it.  A very classy night all around.
