Even though it was day three and many were running on little to no sleep, concert goers arrived early and brought the energy to the final day of CBMF 2022.

As the crowd at the main stage continued to grow, Steven Lee Olsen kicked off the Saturday evening portion of CBMF. Olsen sang fan favourites including “Goodbye City, Hello Country” and “Raised by a Good Time”. As fans cheered from the audience, Olsen posed for selfies with those in the pit. He performed his latest single, “Nashville or Nothing”, a song about moving to Nashville to pursue a career in music, and spoke of some of his proudest accomplishments thus far. Two accomplishments he mentioned were number ones he had written for other artists including, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” for Keith Urban and “Drop” by Dallas Smith. He then went on to play those songs as fans sang along to every word.

Granger Smith won over the crowd when he last played Cavendish in 2018. As he returned to the stage this year, you could tell by the amount of fans sporting Smith’s signature “Yee Yee” apparel that his arrival to CBMF 2022 was highly anticipated. Smith performed songs including his number one hit, “Backroad Song” and “If the Boot Fits”, which was a top 10 single in Canada. Nearing the end of his set, Smith exited the stage for a quick costume change and re-emerged as his alter-ego, Earl Dibbles Jr. Fans sang along to “The Country Boy Song”, as Dibbles strutted down the catwalk dressed in overalls, a white tank top, and cowboy boots. It was evident by the reaction from the fans that Smith would be welcomed with open arms if they ever decided to make him a regular on the CBMF stage.

Other performances of the day included Corb Lund, Lindsay Ell, and Dustin Lynch.

And that’s a wrap. Is it too early to start thinking about 2023? See you on the beach!
