Bobby Brown and MC Hammer are two iconic names from the 80s music scene and the PNE fair in Vancouver was host to both on double-headliner night.

Bobby Brown brought a sense of family and fun with his story of his children. One such story came at the expense of his own hair for the show. Apparently he had made a bet with his son about arriving back home in time and though he tried, he ended up being 5 minutes late, and so his son chose the colour for his to be dyed that night. The power and courage he showed when talking about his daughter that he had lost, and how he had just that night lost another family member who usually attended his concerts and yet he continued to go on with the show. He definitely got the crowd going with the song My Prerogative, and kept the momentum the rest of the performance.

MC Hammer had in his own way of giving his performance. He wooed the ladies with roses, and yes, even the gents got roses from the lady dancers as well. He got the rhythm going and then surprised the audience by singing two songs right in the midst of the crowd themselves. The one good things about Vancouverites is we don’t swarm the artist, but rather just go with it and all were safe and well. I’m sure you will see many of a Youtube, Instagram and another social media posts about that night for those that were right in the middle of it all. He closed the end of the night by singing 2 Legit 2 Quit and Can’t Touch This, which defiantly had all generations up on their feet and dancing along. Even demonstrated his signature shuffle? Side crab walk? Whatever it’s called, the audience sure knows how to do it. It was kinda cool watching audience members following along with the steps. I hope they are able to come again.
