2019 will mark the 8th Anniversary of Boots and Hearts and our 7th year covering the event. As we get ready to kick off our Spring Into Festival Season promotion we thought it would be fun to explore a different side of Boots and Hearts, the family side.

When people think of Boots and Hearts, or festivals in general, they think giant party. In many ways they aren’t wrong but, believe it or not, festivals can be just as family friendly as they are party friendly and Boots and Hearts is pulling out all the stops to make the festival more attractive to families.

#2 Camping

Staying for the full weekend? Consider staying on-site! One of the most expensive parts of any vacation is the cost of accommodations. One of the best ways to experience Boots and Hearts is by staying on-site on the festival grounds. Organizers have made this part simpler than ever and offer various camping options depending on what kind of experience you’re looking to have. The maximum number of people per site is six.

When we first started attending Boots and Hearts back in 2013 there were 2 camping options: General and Family. Since then organizers have completely overhauled their camping setup.

Tent Camping

If you’re looking to spend the nights under the stars and brave the elements there are two choices:

  • Tent Camping – this will give you a plot of land that’s 20’x20′ sq ft. it will also allow for one steering wheel-vehicle per site. Accessible options are available as well (Note: To qualify for an Accessible Campsite, upon arrival you’ll need to provide a valid accessible parking license plate, placard or hang tag.) – Buy now and tent camping for the full weekend is only $179.99
  • Extra Large Tent Camping – Want a bit of extra room? Opt-in for our biggest tent site available — Campsite Plus. At roughly 25’X25’. sq. ft., Campsite Plus options are over 200 sq. ft larger than Regular GA tent Campsites. They’re also located closest to the festival main gates. Buy now and Extra Large Tent Camping is only $279.99

RV Camping

Everyone knows that in August the weather can be completely unpredictable. Boots and Hearts runs for 4 days and camping opens a night before which means that for 5 days you are at the mercy of mother nature. In the 7 years we’ve covered this event we’ve left ourselves to the mercy of mother nature. The video below was the aftermath of a downpour we experience shortly after arriving at the venue for our first ever visit to Boots and Hearts back in 2012, we were lucky and the sun came out after this and it remained dry for the rest of the weekend. Our luck ran out a few years later.

Let’s face it, when at a 4 day festival in Canada during the summer you’ve got a 50/50 chance that some, or even all of it, could be impacted by rain. The great thing about outdoor festivals is that sometimes even rain can make for some of the most memorable experiences. But when you’re tent camping with the family a wet weekend can put a damper on the entire event.

This is where RV Camping comes in to save the day. Boots and Hearts offers RV campsites that are roughly 20 ft. x 50 ft., with a maximum of eight people per site. An RV Campsite is required for every RV entering the campgrounds (think of it like a wristband for your vehicle). Tents can be set up if they are within this space, and any slides or awnings must also fit within this designated site. RV Campsites include space for one steering wheel. RV Camping can be with or without Hydro (Hydro sites range from 30 to 50AMP). Buy now and get your RV camping starting at $379.99!

Join our #BootsFamily

As many of you who have been following us over the last few years know my son has become an eager festival goer. Since the age of 7 or 8 he joined me in attending RBC Bluesfest, Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, TD Ottawa Jazz Festival, Festival Country de Lotbinière and countless concerts from Bon Jovi to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Boots and Hearts remains a bucket list event for him but now that he’s a seasoned festival attendee and has an understanding of the work that we do, this summer we’ll scratch Boots and Hearts from his list so he can help us showcase what it’s like for a family to enjoy Boots and Hearts.

So we invite you to join us this summer at Boots and Hearts as we showcase this amazing summer festival from our #BootsFamily to yours. Follow the hashtag #BootsFamily for family friendly highlights on social media throughout the festival!

And to kick off the celebration we’ve got a pair of General Admission passes with camping just for you!

Visit our Facebook page for full contest rules and details. Wristbands will be sent directly to the winner by the Boots and Hearts team.
