Shinedown dropped in on Laval QC with their Attention Attention tour playing their first time at Place Belle.

Opening for Shinedown were open two incredibly fantastic acts in Asking Alexandria and Papa Roach.  Hailing from York, England, Asking Alexandria kicked the night off with their hit song Violence followed by a solid set that held the attention of the dedicated fans in the crowd.  Sporting a dressed up look, these guys have distinguished themselves over the past couple years from the crowed with their songwriting and musical talents. They delivered a solid exciting rock show to remember.

Up next was Papa Roach who owned the crowd with hits like “Who Do You Trust” and the classic “Last Resort“. As you’d expect at a Papa Roach show, it was an interactive show and we saw the mosh pit develop quickly and the crowd surfacing begin. The crowd knew what they wanted and they got it.  My first time seeing him and it won’t be my last.

Finally we saw Shinedown launch onto the stage in a fury with their smash hit Devil, Diamond Eyes and then Enemies to top off the first three songs. Shinedown is a very interactive band and at their show you get a positive, feel good experience that’s quite uplifting.  Singer Brett Smith wasted no time getting to meet his awaiting fans asking them to get out of their seats and be part of the show.  Smith took time to shake hands with the photographers and others in the pit area demonstrating just how interactive he is. A class act consistent with everything they do.

The stage was simple with room to maneuver around, which is what these guys do. No part of the stage goes untouched. Such gifted songwriters and musicians and proving it tonight with a very strong performance.  The pyrotechnics throughout the show only added to an already high energy the crowd was grasping onto and savoring each moment.

I’ve always been a fan of Zack Myers and seeing him for the second time solidified for me how consistent and solid he is with the addictive riffs and sounds he creates. Smith’s vocals are clear, powerful and controlled as he belts out each word of each song. This night was truly a rock show and everyone came and delivered everything they had.
