NORAH JONES  CHICAGO  JUDITH HILL  THE ROOTS OMARA PORTUONDO  BRAD MEHLDAU  TERRI LYNNE CARRINGTON and LEE FIELDS TO HEADLINE THE 39th ANNUAL TD OTTAWA JAZZ FESTIVAL

Can’t think of a better day to announce the lineup for the 39th TD Ottawa Jazz Festival lineup (from June 21 – July 1, 2019) than on International Women’s Day with its focus on Women in Music.

For 2019 the Festival is making deliberate curatorial choices that focus and highlight the contributions of women in music. You will find them on every stage, playing every instrument, as leaders, composers, arrangers, improvisers, collaborators and more. It’s our distinct pleasure and honour to invite these exceptionally talented artists to be featured at the festival this year.

What are the challenges? It’s harder for some women to tour because traditionally they take on more family responsibilities that create significant logistical obstacles. Because of that, agents (also male dominated) promote their male clients at the expense of their female clients.

The Festival is proud to welcome TD to the TD Main Stage at Marion Dewar Plaza in front of City Hall.
