What a way to start off the new year. Tim Hicks started his  “Shake these Walls” 2017 tour started in BC  & is currently in Ontario. Tim performed in Hamilton on Jan 19, Oshawa on Jan 20, London tonight and then on to Sudbury Ontario. We are very excited to have Tim back in Ontario along with two other local artists: River Town Saints & Jason Blaine! Hang in Ontario; you’re in for heck of a party.  Sound Check was fortunate to catch up with all the boys in at the Tribute Centre in Oshawa.

First up rocking the stage was River Town Saints.  Wow these guys were awesome!  They played all their hits, including “A Little Bit Goes A Long Way”, “Cherry Bomb” & their new current single “Bonfire”.  Wow, these guys sure know how to throw it down!

Next up is someone who is no stranger to the country scene, Jason Blaine. We’re so glad to see him back up on the big stage. He opened the show with one of his classic tunes  “Feels Like That” followed by other fan favorites such as “Friends of Mine”, “Spotlight” and “Back To You”.  Jason then played a song that holds a special place in his heart and in the hearts of many of his fans  “They Don’t Make Them Like That Anymore” & there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.  He then treated us all to a new tune he wrote called “Ain’t Got Growin’ Up Down Yet “ & ended his set with  “Rock It Country Girl.”  Jason surely knows how to rock the house!

Next up was the guy everyone was waiting for…The thunder-god himself…Niagara Falls very own Tim Hicks. Tim started the show off with a bang playing the title track from his new album, “Shake These Walls” followed by “Slow Burn”  & of course, a real fan favorite “Hell Raisin Good Time”.  Tim also included hits such as  “ Young & Alive”,  “She Don’t Drink Whiskey Anymore” & “Got A Feeling” in the set. The energy in the Tribute Community Center in Oshawa kept building & building, & wow did the crowd ever get rowdy when Tim finally played the last few songs in the set “Stomping Ground”,  “Get By” & the last song…”Here comes the Thunder”.  The crowd certainly did “ SHAKE THE WALLS in Oshawa. Sadly the show was coming to a close but Tim saved the best for last in the encore, singing the ever popular “Stronger Beer”, oh man did the crowd go crazy & the crowd sang louder than Tim which was awesome to see.  For the last song of the evening, Tim sang a song that has a lot meaning to him, & he talked about his struggles as singer & how this song was an anthem not only him, but to many of us who may have felt out of place or different.  “Forever Rebel” is on the “Shake these Walls” album and in my in my opinion is one of Tim’s  best songs ever. Thanks Tim, for an awesome night. Good friends, great music, stronger beer = EPIC NIGHT!
