It was the Friday night of the Laurier University homecoming and they got things kicked off in a hurry with a little Hicks & Saints.

Tim Hicks and the boys from the River Town Saints hit the stage last night to help the Laurier faithful ring in the 2015 Homecoming with a bang.   The night started off with River Town Saints warming up the boisterous crowd.   If you still haven’t had a chance to catch RTS I strong suggest you get your ass to the Metcalfe Fair next month because the boys will be playing 3 solid 45 min sets and I can promise you they won’t disappoint.  Seems like each time these guys take the stage it’s that much better.    And I gotta say with a personality like Chris Labelle on stage he had the crowd eating out of his hand.  The boys have a single hitting radio in early November.  I have included a link to the single that is now streaming on their SoundCloud site.  It can be found at the link below.  Have a listen.

Up next… Mr. Hicks.   Tim just got back from a week of writing in Nashville and seemed hungry to perform for the crowd with his rockin’ brand of country the folks at The Turret were not disappointed.   It was Tim’s 2nd appearance at Laurier this year because well, as it is was put on stage “You Folks know how to party”.   Tim played the hits, along with a couple of tracks off the new 5:01+.  I am a big fan of the new song Underdog which has some pretty sweet lyrics throughout.   It was another fun night on stage for the boys and this being a student’s only show had some disappointed fans.  But not to worry  Tim is hitting the road next month with Cold Creek County and Jason Benoit for a 14 date cross Canada tour with 4 stops in Ontario you have plenty of opportunity to catch this one all the details are below.   There is something about seeing Tim play to a packed house.  And last night at Laurier it was Sold Out but with lots of space in the room it just didn’t feel Sold Out.  And one recommendation I can make to the Student Association is don’t make  paying students wait in line when an artist is already on stage.   River Town had finished their set and patrons were still waiting in line when Tim hit the stage.  Other than that it was a pretty solid night of music!
