It was a perfect evening to shoot and review (first time reviewing too) a show in Barrie, Ontario as Aaron Pritchett along with guests The Mudslingers took to the stage at Mavericks on Thursday night.

I was less familiar with The Mudslingers, than Aaron, but was intrigued to see what they would deliver on stage. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with their performance as they seemed all over the place on stage and I found the crowd wasn’t moving as much. Musically there were some definite highlights notably Ryan, on lead guitar, played amazing especially with the double necked guitar. Overall the band wasn’t bad and I’m hopeful that with a few more shows and time under their belt they could develop into a strong presence in the Canadian country music scene.

Although I’ve heard of Aaron Pritchett on TV and on the radio several times this would be my first time seeing him perform; The songs that he sings are very catchy and vibrant they really make the crowd want more.

One of the highlights from Aaron’s set, for me, was when he played; “Sun-Tan City” by Luke Bryan which really got the crowd rowdy and jumping. This song reminds me of sitting on the beach and drinking a cold beer. I found Aaron’s style was different from other performers, many of whom simply show up, sing and leave. Aaron loves to connect with his fans and engages with the crowd to make sure that everyone is having a great night.

Special thanks to Mavericks for hosting this show, I look forward to catching future shows at the venue and hope to get the opportunity to catch Aaron and The Mudslingers again in the future.
