Black leather jackets, twangy guitars and haunting melodies, that’s what the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club show at Club Soda in Montreal was made of.

The San Francisco trio is currently on tour to promote their latest album, Wrong Creatures, which marks the band’s 8th studio album, released just a month ago.

BRMC started their set with Spook, Little Thing Gone Wild, and King of Bones, all from their newest album, and continued with older hits Beat the Devil’s Tattoo and Ain’t No Easy Way.

Singers Robert Levon Been and Peter Hayes switched lead vocals between songs, Hayes occasionally pulling out his harmonica and Been switching between guitar and bass. The tone of the show went between bluesy psych rock to slower, pensive melodies which got the audience holding onto each other and swaying.

Despite of the newest album getting mixed reviews from the critics, the crowd seemed to love the band’s new material and sing and dance along with the older tunes. Club Soda creates a perfect intimate setting to the hypnotic vibe that BRMC creates, and when the band finished their regular set with Spread Your Love,  the people were still hungry for more.

The two song encore included Red Eyes and Tears and What Ever Happened to My Rock and Roll , and released the crowd to their homes warm and satisfied with the evening’s rock treat.
