For the last 10 years the 1000 Islands Regatta has been a staple event along the shores of the St. Lawrence River in Brockville. Each year organizers take it up just one more notch when it comes to their entertainment and after last year’s success with Canadian rocker Kim Mitchell organizers promised that 2017 would be even better to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday and today it was announced that they kept their promise!

The 1000 Islands Regatta is an annual 4 day hydroplane racing regatta & live music festival held on the beautiful St. Lawrence river in Brockville, Ontario. The days are filled with exciting, action packed, hydroplane boat racing as well as activities geared towards entertaining the whole family. As the sun sets the lights on the riverfront stage light up and the live entertainment begins.

Honeymoon Suite

Johnnie Dee and Derry Grehan, the principal and founding members of Honeymoon Suite, met when introduced by manager Stephen Prendergast in 1982. Deciding to work together, they formed Honeymoon Suite with Grehan’s former Steve Blimkie And The Reason’ bandmate Dave Betts on drums, plus an anonymous keyboard player and bassist.

In 1983 they decided to enter the Homegrown Contest put on yearly by Toronto’s Q107-FM radio station so Prendergast approached his friend and producer Tom Treumuth to produce a song for them. Based on the buying public’s response, “New Girl Now” won the contest and Bob Roper at WEA Canada was so impressed with the song and response that he signed the band right away.

Since then Honeymoon Suite has released 7 studio albums, 2 Live Albums, 3 Compilation Albums and 1 EP. They boast 15 singles in the Canadian Top 100 and have performed in front of audiences across Canada and the world.

You can “Feel it Again” this summer as Honeymoon Suite takes to the waterfront stage in Brockville on July 2 with special guests Redline & Ballad Fiasco opening.
